All instructors and staff members have been selected because of their commitment to the Lord, heart of excellence displayed through their special abilities, and their dedication to the vision of Spirit Wings.

 

Company/Studio Assistant Artistic Director - Chandini Gilchrist: Has been a part of Spirit Wings since 1999 where she has traveled across the United States and abroad with the company.  She is currently a student at Towson University where she is studying Dance Performance and Mass Communications.  Chandini has trained in ballet, modern, jazz, tap, lyrical, and African dance.  She is the recipient of The Washington Post’s Music and Dance Award and received numerous arts scholarships from various universities.  Chandini’s passion for the things of God fuels her passion for the arts and her continual desire for growth.  She is committed to the vision of Spirit Wings and continues to support the ministry and the standard by which God has set.

 

Nakia Talley: A member of Spirit Wings Dance Company for over eight years is a graduate of Bowie State University and has trained since the age of 9 in all styles of dance. Proficient in ballet, Pointe, modern & tap. Ms. Talley teaches with a heart of passion for excellence and worship to children & adults. She skillfully lives & ministers the word of God through movement.

 

Rian Matthews is currently a member of Spirit Wings Dance Company.  She has taken ballet, modern, and tap since the age of 5.   She has been a member of Spirit Wings for eight years.  She lives in the Washington, DC area.  Rian has traveled with the company in places across the United States.  Rian has a passion for dance and a passion for sharing what God has given her. Rian is currently attending Howard University Middle School of Mathematics and Science and entering 7th grade.

 

Mari-Ashli Foy has been a part of Spirit Wings since the year 2000 and has had a heart for dance since she was 3. She attends Annapolis Area Christian School where she will be a part of the graduating class of 2008. Mari-Ashli has an intense passion to live her life according to the will of God and to glorify Him in dance for as long as she can. She enjoys sharing her love for God and her knowledge of dance to younger children.

 

Zenas Tobi Okanlawon, is a young woman of virture who strives towards excellence in the art of dance technically and also through her worship. She attended Thomas G. Pullen Middle School as a dance major and is currently a sophomore at Bowie High School. Zenas has a excelled academically and was honored as a Who's Who Among American High School Students and is on the National Honor Roll. She has been dancing with Spirit Wings since the age of 9 and has grown not only as a dancer but a gifted leader.
